In May 2010, Joe contacted me through an online dating site (Plentyoffish.com) and we had our first date shortly after which consisted of coffee at Starbucks, walking around the city, followed by lunch at a local place called The Library. As you can see in the pic, we were very nervous, but happy that day aaaaand you can tell by our shirts that we are both big movie geeks.

 

We went to some fun parties. At one we were dressed up as zombies and at another we dressed up in 80's gear.

 

 

 

We love going out for sushi and around the city.

 

 

We had a blast when we went to Atlantic City and Ocean City, NJ for our first trip together last year.

 

 

We also had fun at the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival.

We hosted a very fun Halloween party shortly after Joe moved into my place. As you can tell, we're big True Blood fans.

We celebrated Joe's birthday (which is on Christmas Eve) by going to Dave & Buster's where we won a coffee pot with all the tickets we got.

 

We are pretty goofy and sometimes we even dress alike. 

 

We got engaged on Valentine's Day this year when we went on a dinner and dancing cruise on the Gateway Clipper. I had picked out the ring (a black diamond) a few weeks before so it wasn't a complete surprise, but I wasn't expecting it so soon. Joe took me up on the top deck of the boat where he got down on one knee and popped the question. I was speechless at first, but so touched. It was really a perfect evening.

We got our photos taken at Jcpenney Portrait Studio just 1 week after the proposal. I must say that I was a little disappointed with them mostly cuz they were waaay overpriced, but we got some good shots and they do showcase our love for each other well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I got my dress yesterday at David's Bridal. It's just the dress I envisioned myself in and a pretty shade of Ivory too! I really didn't think I'd find it at my first appointment to look at dresses, but I knew right away that it was the one! I really love it and can't stop thinking about it. It's a perfect tea length style for our Las Vegas ceremony and I can also wear it when we return home for our reception.

I will most likely need some small alterations. They ordered me a larger size because unfortunately, I couldn't get the dress zipped up in the back so I'm looking forward to going back and trying the larger size on. I also got a cute bracelet and a headpiece to go with it. I tried on some veils, but decided against having one because they didn't feel right.

I still need to find a bra (because I found out that I must be allergic to latex since my skin broke out in the back) so I need to find something that's latex free. I also want to look for some red heels that aren't too high (maybe with a peep toe).

Got married in Vegas (just the two of us) on October 13th.

 

We had our private ceremony in Vegas (just the two of us) on 10/13 and then had an at home reception for about 75 people when we returned on 10/22 at Amici Ristorante in Pittsburgh! It was nice, but nowhere near as nice as our ceremony turned out. I'm still very disappointed that our DJ was horrible and hardly anyone danced at our reception! Our first dance was to "Can't help falling in love with you" by Elvis Presley and we had an anniversary dance for all the married couples and a Money dance.

All of the pumpkins were carved by my Husband and he also made our zombie wedding cake topper.

 

I'm soooooo excited! The big day is not far off.
