After rescheduling our engagement pictures three times due to rain, we finally made it to Hartwood Acres in the Pittsburgh, PA suburbs for our e-session with Bryan Reid of Reid Photography. We made the most of the historic mansion and grounds for our photos.

We chose Bill Levkoff style 874 for the bridesmaids. There were eight women in our wedding party, so wanted something classic, elegant, yet young. We ordered these in black and that very style started popping up in bridal magazines not long after. We did have them hemmed a little shorter so they were a bit more flattering- tea length is hard! The ladies have very different tastes in clothing, and I was a little too worried about letting them choose their own gown, and with all of them being scattered throughout the country it was easiest just to pick one dress style for our wedding. They all loved it, and most importantly felt comfortable in them- three of them have worn them again! A couple of my 'maids had recently had babies, and two were very pregnant at the time of the wedding. If you look at the second BM, you can't even tell she's 7 months along unless you saw her from the side b/c of the ruching- and she really was showing. They looked so pretty!

THis BM is 7 mo. preggers! You can't even tell from this angle!

Here are a few of the BMs with my mom. The two baby bumps are in the middle, and the dress looks great on them! I joke that I had a couple of extra bridesmaids that day.

I searched high and low for a gorgeous yet comfy pair of shoes to wear on the big day. I opted for the closed toe "Karolina" style as I knew it would be cold outside in November. These were so simple, yet pretty and a great color match for my light ivory gown. Found them on Bluefly for a great price after some trial and error with other shoes that just didn't fit right. Wanted some bling, so I added vintage shoe clips that I found on eBay.

I added our first initials for our something blue.

We've all seen the Martha damask cake a number of times over, right? Well, I tracked down the stencils and gave them to the on-site pastry chef at our venue. He thought he could do a reproduction of Martha's damask and combine it with another cake I saw on The Knot and loved. For a cake that was included w/ the venue, I thought it turned out great!
It was yummy too. Flavors were white chiffon cake with coffee and hazelnut filling, and alternating tier was chiffon with vanilla bean and fresh strawberries. A layer of buttercream icing gave a little more flavor since the fondant doesn't taste as good.

We ordered a custom cake topper from Etsy Seller Rain's End a la Mrs. Lovebug. Some bee inspiration at my wedding made me a happy bride!
