Here we are: The august15bride & groom!

A little about us. We met when we were 11 and 12 years old (a fact I remind my 11 year old sister of often). He was a smart aleck kid, sitting against the wall in youth group. I vividly remember seeing him sitting there, picking out his hair with a red pick. Now, fifteen years later, we will be getting married in that same church where we met!

august15bride is a proud graduate of the University of North Carolina (Go Heels!) and Stetson University College of Law. I am an attorney by trade, but I am now the Assistant Director of Student Life at my law school. And I LOVE my job. I was a family law attorney before and...ugh. It really depressed me. I love being around students and have an awesome office environment!

august15groom is a proud graduate of Florida State University. He is a writer and has been doing freelance sports writing for quite some time. He is trying to find some full-time work, but the economy sucks! He spends his extra time taking care of me. ;)

We are (obviously) an interracial couple which has added some interesting discussions and considerations into the whole marriage/wedding realm!
As you have probably read by now, my fiance and I met in middle school. But I (obviously) didn't know then that he was "the one."

We were friends through high school, and started to get closer during our junior year. (The first photo I have of us together is from 11th grade!) He didn't know it, but I had a big-time crush on him. But I couldn't seem to get him to think of me as more than a friend. And then I made a big mistake by dating one of his best friends during senior year. Whoops! But my groom was still my prom court escort, and my partner for our high school pageant, "Meant for Eachother."

The summer before college, my groom "asked me out". And I turned him down. (Stupid me!) There was another guy I was interested in...and I honestly was afraid of what might happen to me and my groom's friendship if we were to date. But still, stupid move.

We went to two different colleges, and dated on and off throughout. I broke up with him on a number of occasions to date other guys (yes, I'm the bad guy) but he never stopped loving me. It took YEARS for me to figure out that I had everything I ever wanted right there in front of me. He has always loved me. And I have always loved him - it just took me a while to figure out that everything I was searching for was him all along.

I never have to question his love for me. He has proved it over, and over, and over again. I am the luckiest girl in the world. My Prince Charming never gave up on me. He is everything I was searching for and so much more. I feel so blessed that he is now my Husband!

I found these at the White House Black Market outlet. My bridesmaids loved them!

My dress is the first dress I tried on. I had second thoughts once I started looking at everyone else's dresses, but everytime I put it on, I loved it more and more. Isn't she lovely?

I love this shot of my mom's dress hanging next to mine. :)

Tux from Men's Wearhouse, hat from H&M. He looked great!

I love how my makeup turned out!
My Daddy gave me the most beautiful necklace to wear on my wedding day...

I found my shoes at Dillards - love them! These are perfect for the ceremony and photos!

And these are my reception shoes! Love them. I saw them and put them on and I had the biggest grin on my face. They just make me so happy. I can't wait to twirl around the dance floor in these!

I absolutely loved my bouquet - lisanthius, roses, hydrangeas, and gerber daisies. Beautiful!

We don't have any pro pictures back yet with showing off our centerpieces, but I'll try to add some soon!
And also the amazing aisle runner my sister painted for me. :)

Yes, we held hands like that through the whole ceremony. :)
My family totally suprised me by decorating the entrance to our reception. They even set up a sound system so "Unforgettable" was playing as guests walked in!

Dancing with my husband...

And dancing with my Daddy...

We didn't just have a beautiful cake - we had a whole dessert room! Everyone loved it!
