Well it all started by................Craigslist.
With the help of his sister (Amanda), Chris managed to post a personal ad on Craigslist.
Chris's personal ad listed a few qualities he was looking for in a girlfriend. He also listed a few qualities about himself along with hobbies, hopes and dreams for his future.
I really found him quite interesting so I decided to e-mail him back. As the night went on we began texting each other. Then finally a few days after talking on the phone and texting, we planned to meet.
We met at a bar in Port Huron called The Angry Bull.
After I arrived late at the bar, I didn't know exactly what he looked like. I scanned the area for anyone who looked like the pictures I have been seeing. Finally he stood out to me. We locked eyes and we knew that we found each other. Especially after hours of drinks and talking, we found ourselves absolutely smitten over each other.
So that night after a romantic goodnight kiss, we have been glued to the hip ever since.
~Thank you Craigslist!
One day Chris came home from work and told me "get your shoes on we have to go to Miejer". I asked "why?" and he said that his friend Jim (who works at Miejer) wants us to come look at the clearanced jewelry. So I quickly threw my shoes on because I could sense his urgency to get to Miejers so badly.
While we were at Miejer we looked at cheap jewelry that was marked down 90%. I was in need of new earrings and since things were so cheap we picked out some necklaces for our Mom's for Mothers Day. As we were about to leave, Chris complained of being "hungry" and wanted to get some Miejers chicken from the deli so that neither of us would have to cook......then we checked out...got in the truck...drove home............................................
As we walked into our house with handfuls of grocery bags...Chris turned to see the reaction on my face when I looked at our stairwell. Our stairwell had rose petals writing “Mandy will you marry me?". I stared at it...and it didn't quite hit me until he grabbed a ring box from the top of the stairs and got down on one knee. Chris was shaking so badly and asked “Will you marry me?". And of course I said "yes!” We hugged with tears in our eyes for a long time.Then...at the top of the stairs was 1 single rose....He handed it to me and asked " Will you accept this final rose" Because I'm a HUGE fan of The Bachelor. And it was so cute, I said yes to that too.
We were so happy and couldn’t wait to share the news with family and friends...And as the night went on we eventually got to eat our chicken dinner from Miejers....
**Chris tried to make the evening sound like we were doing anything special....And with the help of our close friend Jim and our neighbor Holly (she set up the rose petals while we were gone)........this is how we got engaged :)
