THE STORY OF US » How We Met » Tequila brought us together

posted 2 years ago

You always hear crazy stories when tequila shots are involved. For us, it was definitely the good kind of crazy. We both went to a fairly small college and were one year apart so we knew of each other but had never met or even exchanged pleasantries. Flash forward to 3.5 years after I graduated…Our college (Go Zags!) hosts a basketball game in Seattle every year around the holidays. It’s basically a huge alumni event and an excuse to party with friends from college. My fiancé and I were at the same bar after the game and my roommate at the time randomly invited the two of us to join her for a tequila shot. (She wasn't even trying to set us up, just wanted people do tequila shots with!) We obliged and spent the rest of the night dancing and drunk singing to each other.

Now I’m in for a lifetime of tequila shots. Every time we are out with friends we insist that a tequila shot is in order to celebrate our first meeting. Fortunately for both of us, we love tequila!

THE STORY OF US » Engagement Pictures » Fall e-pics for Fall wedding

posted 2 years ago

We picked October as our wedding month because we both LOVE fall. I love so much about the season, but especially the beautiful leaf changes. We scheduled our engagement photo session for mid-November and then anxiously waited and watched the leaves, hoping that we choose the right weekend for the peak in leaf-changing. We lucked out! The colors are captured beautifully!!

STYLE » Inspiration Board » Blue, orange and vintage

posted 2 years ago

My fiance always cracks up because I carry around paint swatches of our wedding colors and when we are making a wedding-related decision I make sure to ask "But is it vintage-y." I've definitely coined my own word to describe our wedding, vintage-y all the way! I want our wedding to have a clear theme and to carry it out throughout every aspect of the wedding.

We are getting married in October and we both LOVE the colors of fall, especially all the leaves changing. We don't however love the fall-themed, leave decorated wedding. So we decided to use blue as our main color, orange as our accent and to steer clear of leave decorations, we are going vintage-y.

The stained glass is a picture of the chapel we are actually getting married in and the adorable vintage orange hair pins are what I will wear wedding day.

STYLE » Jewelry » Hair bling

We are doing a vintage theme with orange and blue as our colors. So when I found these hair pins on Etsy from OriginalsByLynnette, I knew I had to have them! She has awsome stuff and was wonderful to work with - and my hair pins are just as gorgeous in person as they are in pictures.

I can't wait to wear them on the big day!!

DETAILS » Bouquets » Mango Callas

Choosing orange as one of our wedding colors was partly so we could use mango callas for the bouquets. They are expensive but SO worth it!
