Where to start with who we are...
Two people that love a lot of the same things, yet are so different. We love traveling, flying, boating, snowmobiling and enjoying good food. Our careers are irrelevent to who we are for the most part, but we're both hard workers. Bill's a risk taker, where as I err on the side of caution usually.
It's fairly ironic that of all the places we would meet it would be a bar, let alone a bar called Barney's Boathouse. Neither of us care to spend a lot of time at the bar and neither do we care for this particular bar. Since meeting Bill there 5 years ago we've only been back a few times.
I was in a fowl mood and hanging out with some friends. My friends were all drinking and dancing and having a great time while I sat at a booth waiting for 2:00 to roll around so we could leave. Bill walked up to me and just started talking. When he offered to buy me a drink I politely declined, but he wasn't at all deterred and just kept on talking. Bill's not a big fan of this story, so I'll cut to the end. He asked for my phone number and I was about to make one up when he pulled out his cell phone and started programing my number in. I don't know why this changed things for me, but it did and I gave him my number and we've been dating ever since.

Funny how when you get engaged the word "THE" seems to express new importance to every day items. For instance he is THE one. I found THE dress. Those are THE shoes.
It didn't take me as long as I thought it would to find THE dress. I saw a picture of it in a magazine and it was all over from there. I dragged my dear friend all the way across the state of Michigan in a blizzard, because I HAD to try on that dress. It was worth it.
I didn't allow any pictures to be taken of me in the dress, so here are the pictures from the designer. Mikaella Bridal style 1367. THE dress.

I have never really been much of a shoe fanatic, but when I started looking for my wedding shoes I found myself salivating over all the beautiful designer options out there. Suddenly paying $130 for a pair of shoes seemed completely reasonable. It's like I've been taken over by a shoe loving pod person with plenty of money to spare.
My issue with wedding shoes is that I really can't stand white shoes. Granted there are some BEAUTIFUL white shoes out there these days, but very few of them really cried out to me. Originally I thought that I really wanted to wear blue shoes, but was not able to find any that I both loved and could afford. Those lovely blue Manaolo Blahnik's that brides around the world have coveted this year caught my eye, but were WAY out of budget.
So, here are a few that I absolutely love and of course, the shoes that I saw and knew that I had to have. It was destined to be.
Here are the Manolo's that I love.

The shoe below is possibly the only white shoe that I've ever fallen madly in love with. Probably because it is an imitation of a Christian Louboutin shoe that I ADORE, but at 1/10th of the cost.

And Finally. Here are my shoes. I saw them on a Style me Pretty blog post and had to have them. I tracked them down to Blue Fly's web site, but alas, they were $900 and even at the sale price of $500 they were still too much. BUT, as fate would have it I went on Blue Fly's web site one morning and they had ONE PAIR left on clearance that just happened to be in my size, marked down to $370. Still a LOT of money, but I HAD to have them. I may not be able to wear my wedding dress on our anniversary every year, but I will definitely be wearing my wedding shoes.

Oh how I love these shoes!
Our wedding will be in October in Michigan, so hopefully we'll have some beautiful fall colors outside. I'm not at all crafty or good at picturing things, so I have been googling centerpieces like mad hoping I will be able to find something that will fit with our wedding that I can actually make and save some $$$ on.
The moment you have all been waiting for, the centerpiece pics of the century:

I especially love the image from the above inspiration board that is the bottom left hand picture. All the flowers in the white pumpkin are beautiful.

These look simple enough that I might be able to pull them off myself

On the above inspiration board I like the top two pictures. Simple vases with flowers and then the hollowed out pumpking with the ring of leaves and candle. We can't use candles, but maybe we could find some flowers to float in the pumpkins.

Too bad our venue doesn't allow candles. We'll have to come up with a way to use some fake ones.

I LOVE the invitations in this one. Perfect!
SO, what do you ladies think?
