He is the Director of Education and Living History for the National Infantry Museum. I am a Registered Nurse. He's into military history, politics, Civil War re-enacting, Auburn football, and Braves baseball. I'm into knitting, reading, sewing, quilting, cooking (but not so much baking), and blogging. I have a beautiful daughter from a previous relationship that absolutely adores Mr. CrabCake.

The Set Up:
Mr. CrabCake is celebrating a friend's birthday with a weekend-long bash in Savannah, Georgia. They are spending Saturday night at the Moon River Brewery on Bay Street. Miss CrabCake is spending a long weekend in Savannah with her family. Miss CrabCake, her mom, and a friend are spending Saturday night exploring Historic Savannah with a haunted pub crawl.
Take 1:
Miss CrabCake is thoroughly enjoying the pub crawl, although she hasn't seen any spirits yet. The group enters the Moon River Brewery. The dining room is packed with tourists and locals alike. Miss CrabCake has a drink in hand, but decides that a locally brewed beer would be an excellent way to experience Savannah (and that is the point, after all). She squeezes up to the bar next to (who she thinks is) a local and notices that he is mighty cute. Inhibitions dampered by a little liquid courage, she musters the nerve to ask for a beer recommendation. The stranger suggests whatever it was he was drinking and tells her that he's not local, so he hasn't had the chance to try them all. She innocently asks where he is from, and lo and behold, they live in the same town. They laugh about the coincidence of meeting in Savannah and introduce theirselves. Her group is moving on, so she jots her email address down on a cocktail napkin and runs to catch up with the tour.
Take 2:
A few days pass, but Miss CrabCake is distracted by real life and doesn't imagine she'll really hear from that stranger again. The man from the bar sends her an email mid-week and she is shocked. From emails blooms a friendship, and after a couple of weeks, Miss CrabCake passes on her phone number. The friendship they developed quickly blossoms into more, and he asks her out on a date.
He takes her to the World's Worst Italian Restaurant (which is a local landmark) and a Comedy Show. The food doesn't hamper the evening, and Miss CrabCake is smitten with this man. The evening ends innocently enough, but they both know something has begun.
A few dates later, he kisses her under a full moon, and a rail road track. Their fate is sealed.
