Jonny and I are a seemingly odd couple who met at just the right times in each others lives.
I was going through that "I'm just going to be single for a year or so" phase, and so was he. We'd both been burned by an endless run of undependable and hurtful love interests.
My best friend George introduced us and kind of pushed us both into seeing the potential in one another. Without a push, both of us would have been content to be good friends, respecting the mutual choice to take a break from seeking romance in the opposite sex. Thank goodness for George, that lovable interloper. We met in March of 2008, I moved in April of 2009, we're getting married July of 2010.
Our relationship has been as peaceful and seamless as I've ever experienced. We both know each others limits and strengths, and we work together to highlight those strengths and downplay the weaknesses. We've yet to have a serious argument or tearful episode. I think our personalities are just different enough to mesh perfectly. He's more of an extrovert and party animal who encourages the fun, while I tend to be the more quiet voice of reason that enjoys a nice glass of wine and cuddle time. He loves pizza and beer, and I love quinoa and green tea (though I've never been one to turn down a good beer). We alternately introduce one another to things we may have poo-pooed otherwise.
Jonny is a bit of a computer geek. He's a network engineer and sometime DJ. He's really a musical phenom, at one point he traveled all over the country and even overseas to spread his "minimal techno" mixes to an adoring public. He's even recorded and sold his music.
I am a self proclaimed fitness and food junkie. Wait, I mean "nutrition"! Haha. I'm currently a manager at a home improvement big box, and I'm going to school to be a personal trainer. I've had the most random jobs...a sailing instructor, pottery instructor, and now I want to be a fitness instructor!
We both come from miliary backgrounds with an asian persuasion (his dad was stationed in Japan, thus he lived there for some years), and my father was a Chinese linguist in the Navy. Our mothers are independent and intelligent ladies and we both have a sister a piece.
He's a 6'7 redhead (no, AUBURN, he tells me), I'm a 5'8 blondie. We should have cute babies :)
