October 2004. Rivalry teams, The Boston Red Sox and The New York Yankees face-off for the American League Championship. With the two teams battling on, two strangers start to get to know each other unaware that this would be the start to something much bigger than baseball (if you can imagine something even exists).

He had never met a girl who could name the entire starting line up and pitching rotation of a MLB Team, only problem-- it was for the wrong team. She was a Yankee fan, forbidden fruit, maybe that's what made her so exciting to him. She had never meant anyone so sweet and genuine. This Yankee/Sox series ended up being the biggest upset in baseball history for New York but a magical time for Boston and these two strangers. The Sox went on to win their first World Series Tittle in 86 years and these strangers went on to build a beautiful friendship which blossomed into a romance and furthermore into a deep love. Just as the passion and fire between the Red Sox and Yankees burns on, so does the love of Justin and Sarah (yeah, yeah... corny I know!)

THE STORY OF US » The Proposal » 10/26/08: The Proposal

After living together for just over a year and celebrating our 4 year anniversary on the 22nd, it happened. I got home on Sunday around 4:30pm after teaching a private dance lesson with one of my wedding couples. When I pulled in to the driveway, the house was dark and I could see a candle lit in the house through the window. I didn't think much of it as we always have candles on. When I opened the front door to my surprise the word "LOVE" was spelled out in candles on our coffee table.

The living room was aglow, flickering with candle light. Down the hall I noticed that rose pedals lead the way to our bedroom. Also lining the way through the hallway were messages taped up with reason why Justin loves me. Making my way down the beautiful, magical hallway, enjoying the special messages along the way, I came upon our closed bedroom door. I opened the door to find Justin looking so handsome, dressed in his pinstriped suit awaiting my arrival. The room was filled with candles. There was a chair waiting for me and a pillow on the ground for Justin to kneel on. In utter shock, Justin told me to sit down and he got down on one knee. After saying some beautiful sentiments, he popped the question and of course I shouted with a resounding YES!

It was such a magical and special surreal moment I know I will never forget. Oh yeah! and kudos to my man, he asked my parents for their permission first.. it was pretty important to me :)

Justin and I met during the 2004 ALCS- Sox vs. Yankees (Justin, an avid Sox fan and myself a die-hard yanks girl!) so it made perfect sense when choosing the what and where for our e-pics to incorporate the greatest rivalry in baseball or rather sports history! The CT Defenders let us use the stadium for free! Then we headed to one of our favorite spots, Mystic, CT. Eric and Amber of Raw Photo Design ROCKED our photos! Thanks for letting me share! :)

Picked up this bad boy at a sample sale last year!

and my total Carrie Bradshaw Rockin' Reception Dress!

Going to change into this after cocktail hour in time for the announcement and first dance :)

We're doing a Rehearsal BBQ and Wiffle Ball Game! We didn't want to do a whole yankee/sox wedding but wanted to throw it in the mix at some point. What a great place to incorporate our Red sox/Yankees rivalry than with a nice competitive game, beer, and BBQ! I think it will be a great place for everyone to get to know each other before the big day!

I have amazing friends. This was so clear from all the thought, care, love, and time they put into the incredible shower they threw me yesterday. It was so wonderful to be surrounded by all the amazing women in my life. I wish you all a shower as wonderful as mine :)

Just wanted to share some pics from the day!
