We are Shawn and Amy in real life. 

He's a material handler/equipment operator for a company that builds large valves for compressed gas lines.  He's the father of 3 wonderful children.

She's a lab technician in an environmental lab and a tax preparer for HR Block during the tax season.  She's the step mom to two grown children and to 2 4 legged kids who look remarkably like a beagle and a black lab.

Mr. HurseyBar was a "neighborhood kid" in the town where my Gram lived.  We played together with all of the other "neighborhood kids"  So, we met for the first time when we were 9 years old.  He's always been in my life in one way or the other.  We went to different schools, so he would pick me up at my bus stop and drive me home. He was in my best friend's wedding, and in my first wedding.  We lost touch for a few years then last year we ran into each other at a bar.  A week or so later I stopped by to take him for coffee just to catch up.  He told me, "I've waited 20 years to have a chance with you."  On the 4th of July he called and asked if I wanted to go to a movie and I said yes.   Boy am I glad I did.

He proposed on Christmas Day, at his parents' house, in front of the whole family.  As we were cleaning up from opening the gifts he handed me one last package.  His dad said "did you forget one?"  little did I know they were in on it!  I thought it was a CD, from the way it was wrapped.  I was excited because I had been hinting around about wanting several CDs for christmas.  I tore off the wrapping paper and inside was a Toby Keith CD.  I was confused because he know's I don't care for TK's music.  then I realized it was a USED CD.  I opened the case fully expecting to find a gift card to my favorite music store in the mall.  Instead I found a note that said "Will You Marry Me?' and a ring DUCT TAPED to the inside of the case.  I was speechless!
