THE STORY OF US » Who We Are » me and my babe

posted 2 years ago

I'm a doc he is self-employed, we both love travelling which was how we met in the first place, we've been to 8 countries together and probably 20 between the both of us

I can get highly strung, he is laid back, he's British I'm Filipino; but we both love our families, we both love our religions, we have the same values and I love him to pieces

we have alot of differences; we are inter-continental, we are inter-racial, I am 10 years older, but despite our differences..aw, well love prevailed; we made despite the odds, the odd comments friends would make that we wouldn't survive; I'm happy we did, our story is more unique than others

THE STORY OF US » How We Met » at a bar in times square

posted 2 years ago

Me and a friend were having dinner at a Thai restaurant and we hit a bar afterwards around Hell's kitchen/Times square area. I notice this tall handsome guy from across the bar, thinking I wish he would chat with us, thought nothing of it. We head to another place, we see this same handsome guy at the place. Turns out he asked the bartender where to go.

He had a very happy open friendly face, he was so handsome and his English accent was very sexy. We started chatting, he tells me he's from England and it's his last night of travelling after 1 whole year. We just really click and I couldn't help myself I was so attracted we started kissing.

We exchange e-mails and numbers. I look him up it so happened I started travelling to Europe, I chose London as my first stop we keep in  touch almost every other day; I kept waiting for him to say he met a nice English woman. When we parted ways, against the odds, I knew he was someone I wanted to keep seeing and not just some random guy you meet.

We see each other every two to 3 months and started taking turns visiting each other despite the odds and the distance and the rest is history

THE STORY OF US » The Proposal » It wasn't quite a proposal but somehow I knew it was

posted 2 years ago

We were on a vacation in Antigua. He started talking about serious things. After two years he finally said he loved me. It's slow going because we're long distance and we are both very proper.

But it was like all of  a sudden all the floodgates started opening. He started saying we should have kids soon, we should get married, I love you. Like whoa, I was overwhelmed where did all this come from? I was very happy.

(Previously, we were in a  limbo in what to do with our situation, I gave him time to gel, and I am very glad I did. I knew I had to move on if he didnt want to be serious because I wanted to have kids and I'm 38 but I never pressured him but I knew if it went on it wasnt good if we didn't take it to the next level.)

But it was at a restaurant when I knew he was really serious when he said when we go back we should look at rings. My heart turned. I was just filled with joy. That's when I knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me.

So we started making plans.  I don't have my ring yet. He just bought it. I'll be getting it when I see him next week in England. I am very happy.  We are going to the lakes and to the London eye, so maybe he'll formally propose, but I knew when we talked about it in Antigua, that was it. Not conventional but we have never been conventional.
