WHERE:We live in the midwest where there's really not more than corn...
Mr. JuneBride & I actually met on a night that one of my best girlfriends and I went out for some dancing and to NOT think about boys...I had a rocky start to the year when I was involved in a relationship that was so incredibly toxic and unhealthy - yet I cried over it for months after the breakup...after going on a few more dates that year and just not finding anyone I really meshed with - I was finally at that point where I'd givin up and was ready to work on me and not worry about men.
My friend, D, and I went out to our usual dance club and we'd both decided that day absolutely NO boys - just her, me and some vodka cranberries!
We got there and I shoulda known better - 10 minutes into dancing she was off with someone. That was fine - so I was just in my own little world, dancing by myself and honestly having a great time...that's when the future Mr. JuneBride came dancing my way. I figured "why not" since D had already gone off...and I started dancing with him. We just kept dancing for a good hour or so - not even knowing each other's name until I decided I needed some air...we went outside and introduced ourselves and the rest as they say is history!
Not a truly romantic story - but it's ours. He always says he barely remembers the night as he had definitely had a few beers in him...but I remember (and I can say this now) this totally dorky yet handsome guy who saved my life when I'd pretty much given up on love.
