Krissycake is a 25 y/o Disney Cast Member who works at the World 'Famouse' (haha get it?) Epcot center! She loves riding her pink bike, drinking coffee and diet coke and traveling.
Krissycake's FH is a 30 y/o Software Engineer who works at Lockheed Martin and originally hails from the Midwestern United States. He is a fan of tennis (watching and playing), driving his Mini Cooper and building computers in his spare time.
While living in FL, two pair enjoy exploring the 'real' Florida on assorted day trips, playing at the beach and riding roller coasters in their free time. =)
Mr. KC definitely outdid himself on this one - before our engagement, I never believed brides that said they were surprised!!!
It was February 26, 2009, and Mr. KC and I were headed for a three-night cruise to the Bahamas for the weekend aboard the Disney Cruise Line. Although I had been before, I was extremely excited to be going with Mr. KC, as he had never been on a cruise, let alone DCL.
Aboard the ship, I could tell that he was impressed by the decor and theming of the ship, but there was just something a little off about his demeanor that I could not seem to put my finger on. Still, I was having so much fun, I didn't really think anything of it.
Before dinner, we stepped out on the deck to take a little walk. It was really windy out, and we kept giggling as the gusts nearly swept up my skirt several times, Marilyn Monroe-style! But just as we were about to walk back into the boat, Mr. KC suggested we take a seat on the wooden bench near the door, and reached for my hand.
As we sat down, Mr. KC clasped both of my hands, and looked intently at me, while smiling, "you know, I am having so much fun, and I cannot think of anyone in the world I'd rather be with than you, here now."
I smiled back, and his grip tightened.
"You know, I love you so much," he started.
I responded, "oh honey, I love you so much too -"
Just then, a group of people rounded the corner near us, and Mr. KC let go of my hands and said, "hey, isn't it time for the show now?"
At that point, I was a little confused, but honestly just brushed it off, since he was known to be off at times. =) And so, we enjoyed a fantastic stage show, great dinner, and even managed to sneak into seeing the cruises' version of 'the Newlywed Game' show before we retired for the evening to our Navigator's Verandah Stateroom.
Laughing and talking about the nights events, we decided to go out on the verandah. We sat in a perma-hug on the built in bench, staring up at the velvety dark sky, glimmering with piercing white stars, and a perfect stream of smoke from the ship's stack; just that perfect moment. Though there was no light, I could see his huge grin, because it matched the one on my lips as well.
Abruptly, he broke away, simply saying, "I'll be right back...I have something for you."
As he retreated into the room, I literally had no idea what he was going to get. Just a few weeks ago, it had been Valentine's Day, and he had given me the cutest plush dog, and so I chided, "is it a friend for Wiggles (the name I had given the dog)?"
Walking back out, he took his place on the little bench, and held me closer than he had before, and slowly started, "you know, honey, I love you so much."
Just like before, I responded, "I love you so much too!"
Almost cutting me off, he continued, "no, really, honey, I love you..so much! So much, I want to marry you."
I clearly was not getting it.
I said, "I would want to marry you too babe -"
"You make me happier than I ever thought I could be, and I just, I love you so much honey, and I love making you happy...so, will you..." he stepped away, down to his knee, pulling out something from his pocket, "will you marry me?"
I was STUNNED. Shocked, but in the happiest way possible! Before even responding, I burst into the happiest tears ever, and the world literally stopped moving for about 7 seconds as pure joy just overcame my entire being and he slipped the ring on my finger.
We kissed, then hugged a good long time before I mumbled through sobs, "of course, yes, yes!"
Another 10 minutes or so passed before he asked if I wanted to SEE the ring...heh, details...it was gorgeous...and the next day, he revealed to me that he had packed it in MY bag and I was TOTALLY oblivious!!
DIY e-pics! =)
I am having three bridesmaids, my sister (MOH), my best friend from 4th grade, and my fiance's sister.
In more recent news, we have changed our dress to what I think might be a more re-wearable option, as well as a much more affordable one:

I have DIYed pearl ribbon necklaces for their jewelry & they will be wearing gold shoes of their choosing. =)
The search for my wedding dress was really much shorter than anyone might have anticipated.
First of all, I was not one of those girls who dreamed of her wedding and her white frock since childhood. In fact, my parents were worried for a good spell when I announced, defiantly back in my elementary school days that I would "never get married." Well, I never thought I'd meet Mr. KC, and fall in love, yadda yadda...so, things change!
Anywho. I was brainstorming a master plan to get my dress for less than $600; which I thought was a fairly reasonable amount for this day and age. I was scouring my stack of bridal magazines and countless websites day and night and had narrowed my choices down to a few ideas: I was pretty sure I wanted strapless, ivory or off-white (just not bright white!) and a short (or possibly no train).
However, when I mentioned this all to my mother, she scoffed at my $600 limit, saying she purchased hers for $125 and it was just fine! Of course, I had to kindly remind her that she had wed more than 25 years ago, and there was a little thing called inflation. Still, her words echoed in my mind like a challenge.
Then one morning, it happened. I stumbled upon the idea of searching eBay...not expecting anything but just to see what people might be selling, wedding-related - and there it was:
"David's Bridal Michelangelo Wedding Dress, 8076. - $99."
I furiously copied and pasted it into my Google Search, expecting some drab, poofy-sleeved monstrosity to stare back at me...but I was pleasantly surprised:
...and sold at $299! Yahoo! I bid it up $1 (to $100 even) and won...and with the $24 shipping, I spent the exact amount on my dress as my mom =)

We ordered our lovely Publix wedding cake 2 weeks ago; it's called Lifelong Love, and we're ordering it in light blue with the white/creme piping, and with three round layers instead of alternating round and square. It will be chocolate with buttercream under the fondant! =)
ETA:
This was our cake!! AMAZING!!!
