Luke and I were born and raised Texas kids (although I'll admit I spent my entire grade school in NH). Now we're both in college at local Texas tech schools - him for welding - me for graphic design. He wants to be a welding inspector and I plan to teach graphic arts vocationally at the high school level.
We currently live 500 miles away from each other - him in dallas - me in the RGV of TX. But we've known each other our whole lives since I was from Dallas originally and that's where all my family is.
He will be graduating in December while mine has been indefinitely postponed b/c I have decided to pursue other endevors and just do the college thing as I go along instead of full-time. Those other endevors include and involve my taking a 4 month sabatical this summer where I moved back to New England, learned Swahili, and pursued a local Bible missionary assignment to African immigrants in the area.
Speaking of which, we're both Jehovah's Witnesses who are actively involved in our religion and keep that first in our lives.
On paper we maintain we are the worst couple ever b/c our personalities should completely clash. We are both stubborn as hell and beyond head strong. We are ridiculously sarcastic and can be down right jerks. But we love each other immensely and find our selves in our own little world more often than not. We argue of who is the smartest (don't tell him but I know he is... *smile*) and have crazy random conversations. We love to banter in public to make other people feel awkward. :)
We've been dating since January 29, 2008 and eagarly look forward to our May 29, 2010 wedding in Deep South Texas. I've been blogging about our whole planning process at www.mismikadodowntheaisle.wordpress.com. Our wedding website can be found at www.ourownlittleworld.net.
We're wanting to get nice professional ones done just having issues finding time :-/ so here are some shot by family and friends :)

I have all ready informally asked my girls to be in my wedding and I mailed out there formal invitations to be my bridesmaids this morning. So with that being said, here are my wedding elves ![]()

Maid of Honor M

M has been my best friend since we were 6 years old. Of course as with any adolescent girls we had our ups and downs but I could not imagine having any one else stand next to me on my special day. It would just feel wrong if it was anyone else.

Bridesmaid S

S is my aunt (my dad’s little sister) who is only 5 years older then me. So we basically grew up as sisters since I used to live next door and spent everyday with her. That also means we used to fight like sisters. But S has been the most supportive BM ever and here’s a little hint: she’s making the most amazing dress to wear for the wedding ![]()

Bridesmaid L

(the one on the right; my friend A is on the left and she will be my make-up artist)

L is one of those friends I have made in my “adult life” that I know will always be my friend. She has supported and listened to me vent and cry about so much. I basically live at her apartment part-time and she is the BM who is planning all my showers and that kind of stuff. I don’t know where I would be without her in my life ![]()

Bridesmaid V

V is not only a good friend but a distant cousin
We’ve gotten very close since I moved down here and she’s definitely one of those friends that is great at heart to hearts and completely loyal and trust worthy.

Flower Girl MO

MO and her family are a friend of Luke’s. When I first started dating Luke I sort of stole him away from her. Apparently she’s had a very big crush on him so to try and ease any hard feelings I decided to ask her to be in our wedding.
Finding my dream dress was one of the toughest things. I was very picky and had a tight budget. My mom doubted it was possible... especially after I tried on at least 30 differnet dresses. None of which gave me that feeling... you know the one :)
Well then back in April, I went to the Annual Clearance Sale at Bridals by Rochelle (www.bridalsbyrochelle.com) in Uxbridge, MA. All their dresses were priced between $50 – $200. And we’re talking nice designer gowns.
So I went… and was the only bride there by myself
All my friends had other plans and my mom was across the country. But I found my dress… yes I finally had my “the one” moment.
I remember stepping out of the changing room and hearing all the other moms gasp and go "she's so beautiful". It definitely made the moment better being alone and all...
Best yet my dress was originally $698 but I got it for an amazing $175.

I can't wait to mail these out at the beginning of the next month :)
