Back in my early 20's I probably would have gone with a pouffy cupcake dress, but being that I was 29 years old while planning my wedding, I realized my style & taste had changed over the years. I totally detested the idea of going into a bridal shop to look at gowns. I think bridal gowns are beautiful, but I did not want to deal with the extra fuss. Plus I wanted something different. Being that we were having a vintage wedding, I wanted something that reminded me of old Hollywood, art deco, The Great Gatsby. Thank you BCBG. Yep. Got this bad boy at the mall. It was the first and only dress I tried. I loved it and could not be happier with my decision.

I had 2 maids. I was the best bride ever and let them pick their own dresses and accessories (well, I did buy them some jewelry for the big day). My only restrictions were color and length. I did not want them to be matchy-matchy, but at least coordinated. Also, I wanted each of them to be comfortable where they were able to express their individual and unique styles.

Since my dress had a deco inspired broach on the front, I decided to keep all accessories at a minimum. Less is more, right?

The crystal broach on the dress had gray-colored crystals so I did have to put in some major leg work with finding jewelry of the same color and that had the vintage vibe.
