Weddingbee bios

We were headed to Pittsburgh for 'dinner' with our friends. We were half-way to Pittsburgh when Mr. Sunflower received a (phony) phone call from our friends saying that they were running a little bit late because their little girl, wouldn't fall asleep.

I was a little suspicious at this point considering it was 8:00 on a Monday evening which seemed a little bit late for a couple with a baby, but tried not to entertain any thoughts of this being 'the night.'

We arrived in Pittsburgh and headed for Carson Street one of our favorite places with great shops and bars. Right off of Carson Street is a church that Mr. Sunflower had been wanting to take me too so he suggested we stop there to 'kill time.'

When we arrived at the church the doors were locked (the whole time i am searching his face to see if this was a proposal plan gone wrong, but he wasn't abnormally frustrated-convincing me that 'tonight just wasn't the night' )- He informed me later that this really was the place and he was freaking out in his head but trying to keep his cool on the outside.

Mr. Sunflower suggested we go about 2 minutes away to another church, St Paul of the Cross Monastery, which has a beautiful view of the Pittsburgh skyline. We parked and then sat on a ledge looking at the city.

He suggested we say a prayer. He led the 'Ave Maris Stella' and said he prayed the prayer every night  for our future marriage  (okay i DEFINITLY know what's coming now) and he said he had a question to ask me.

As Mr. Sunflower is about to get on one knee.. a scruffy, disheveled man came over, with a cigarette in his mouth asked us if he could bum a cigarette! (quite possible my favorite part of the story, i just HAD to include it) Mr. Sunflower informed him that 'no we didn't have any cigarettes' and promptly waited for the man to leave before he got on one knee and proposed!

 

The shoot started at 5:45 a.m., leaving Mr. Sunflower who's body runs on coffee a little moody. Our efforts to capture the sunrise remained futile as it was a cloudy morning (note: weather.com next time)

In the end we were both ecstatic with the finished product, we even made time in between locations to grab Mr. Sunflower a coffee.
