Mr Mini is a computer engineer with interests in photography, skiing, and mountaineering. He is shy and quiet when you first meet him ... but watch out once he gets to know you!
I am a registered nurse who works in NICU, I am interested in shopping ... and shopping (LOL). I am outgoing, and sarcastic.
Together we bring out what I think is the best in each other (although I am not sure everyone agrees - LOL). We are masters at sleeping in late, love breakfast more than any other meal, and have been known to have the breakfast any time of the day.
We have a Newfoundland dog, who is like our baby. We really want another one soon, but house buying, wedding planning, and such might have to come first.
We are moving to a new city right now, and planning our wedding there (yikes). We are also in the midst of buying (building) a new house, so our plates are really full and we are trying to balance it all.
By the click of a mouse ...
We were both out of long term relationships for a while, dating people here and there and were looking to meet someone special ... so we had each decided to try the internet on for size. I joined the lavalife, I had met a couple people off of the site before FH ... and was just about to give up for good when we really hit it off through mail messages, and then MSN messenging, then multiple phone conversations.
We had a coffee date, which went so well that I ended up not making it to any of my other plans that evening. Date #2 was a really crappy movie, but we ended up spending the entire weekend together (I will spare you the ... ahem ... personal details).
We ended up making it official pretty quickly, because it was just so easy and felt right!
Since Mr Mini moved to another city for work, we only see each other on the weekends I am not working. One of our weekend rituals is to hit one of the nearby parks to walk our dog Charlie
This day we had not had the greatest day, I woke up tired and crabby, with a sore back, and we had lots of errands to run. It was nice out and ALL DAY all Mr Mini could talk about was getting Charlie out for a walk at Crescent Ridge (a pathway that overlooks the city and river ... very beautiful, and my favorite place in the city).
We get back from running errands, and my house smells like gas ... so I call the gas company and they tell us to wait outside the house for the emergency service guy ... now I am REALLY irritated, because I was cranky and wanted a nap!
The service guy came, sorted out the gas leak, and by now it is dinner time. Mr Mini INSISTS we got for a walk before dinner. So now, I am tired, sore, hungry and cranky!
Mr Mini is really into photography and usually takes lots of pictures on our walks, he brought his camera bag along, but didn't take any pictures ... oddness!
Once we walked the bridge and back, he suggests we take a seat on one of the benches that looks out over the city, the sun is setting, and all the downtown city windows are glowing orange.
He pulled out the ring box and told me he needed to ask me a question ... I was totally stunned and just started laughing and kissing him ... it took me a few minutes to gather myself together, and I told him he could ask. He asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I asked Charlie what he thought (he wagged his tail so I figure that was approval) and then Troy showed me my ring!
We really went back and forth about getting e-pics done, and I am sooo glad we did. Our photographer (Rachel Schultz of Madchen Studios) is really fun to work with and did an amazing job.
We were so cold doing the e-pics, we actually postponed by 2 days because on our original date it was -30C (-40C with the wind chill), it was a mere -15C this day ... but the result was still fabulous.
This is my favourite picture:
Of course, our Newfoundland Dog Charlie had to be included in the pics (even if he resisted modelling!)
Just a couple more, I promise:
I am a little less than 6 months out from our wedding, and finally got around to making an inspiration board, it has a lot of stuff I have actually booked/bought for the wedding on it!

Mr Mini had a little help in choosing my e-ring, I went to the store with him (about 5 months before he actually proposed) and picked out 5 settings - he did the rest and I couldn't be happier with what he chose!
I finally took it around the house for an e-ring photo shoot this week (I know, bad fiancee because I have had the ring since May LOL)
Hope you like her!

When I was planning the wedding, one of my major goals was to have as much settled and in place before the day as possible, waiting to receive bouquets at the last minute would just stress me out. I trolled etsy for the perfect bouquets and bouts for my "Modern/Vintage, ivory, black and blush wedding". Enter seller Hairbowswonderworld. She created the perfect bouquets and bouts for me:

I had initially decided to purchase a Brides invitation kit from Michaels - but I was playing around with Pages on Mac out of boredom, and came up with a couple different invitation designs that I liked - so I decided we could do the invitations ourself from scratch.
I ordered pocket folds from cardsandpockets.com (in our little used accent colour - blush) and added a black satin ribbon belly band:

Used my newly-aquired xyron to add a black mat to the invitation panel area:

Hit up the xyron again for the invitation panel, and added inserts:
Finally - after a dismal (and painful) wax seal fail - created and mounted a fabric flower to close the invitations:

I love how they turned out - even if they were a ton more work than originally planned!
