Mrs. Powder Puff is a Montessori preschool teacher with dreams of one day starting her own little school. Mr. Powder Puff works in career services at a big university in the area (we're an education-minded couple!), and plans to pursue his PhD in the near future. We live in a quiet Chicago neighborhood, but enjoy the fast-paced city life. On any given day you can find me dabbling in creative pursuits, or hanging with the mister enjoying this fantastic city.

I absolutely loved my dress. It was the second dress I tried on, and while I tried on others after it, I kept coming back to this one. Finally, the decision was made when my sister blurted out, "That is so...you!" Sold!
The sash that came with the dress was totally blah, and I wasn't wild about it, so I ordered a much thicker satin sash that I wrapped around my waist twice and tied in a bow in the front. Despite a major dress freakout about two weeks before the wedding, I adored my dress the day of, and I got many compliments on it. Totally classic, totally me.
When planning the wedding, I absolutely did not have the energy to choose a bridesmaids dress that would look fab on all of my girls, be economical, and be cute enough that they would want to wear them again. So instead I asked each girl to choose their own dress with these guidelines- must be a bright color and no longer than knee length.
I think the girls did an amazing job! I adored how the dresses looked in pictures, and the best part is each girl can wear theirs again, for reals!

I had a really hard time deciding on a veil. On the one hand, I loooove the look of drop veils, but whenever I tried one on it didn't look like... me. I finally decided to ditch the drop veil and go with a birdcage! I ordered my veil from Somethingbold.com, and I LOVED it! Super chic, flattering and totally different.

I was so happy on our wedding day that we chose to do a first look. Not only did it give us more time for our amazing portraits, it also let us relax before the ceremony, and actually attend our cocktail hour! Holla!
