we decided to celebrate our 7th anniversary 7 days prior.. by going to our favoured out of town destination.. and staying in a bed & breakfast that caters our needs (has a nice view for photo ops, wifi, LCD TV, and huge rack of ribs :p).. the weather favored us.. two days of sun sandwiched between days of pouring rain..
so there we were.. taking photos of ourselves against the taal lake backdrop.. gabs was getting agitated.. i attributed it to his wanting to get the perfect lighting.. quite tricky when you're sort of against the light.. i wasn't really caring much.. trying to fix my HDR shots while he's continuing on with his test shots.. calling me to join him every now and then..
after one such shot.. i was moving away already.. then he pulled me back.. and there he was.. kneeling on one knee.. my reflex was to pull back.. i thought he was joking.. teasing me.. only "practicing".. then i saw the ring box.. so apparently it was the real thing..
so then we went for take two.. and he delivered his spiel.. and i accepted.. so now we're officially engaged.. :)

We had our engagement shoot in our university, where we met, started dating, and became a couple.

I'm normally very OC and don't want to get dirty, but when our photographer asked us to lie down the lobby, I didn't hesitate to follow coz I knew I would love the shot [okay, I may have hesitated for a split-second].

It was great to have these shots where it seemed the building was all ours... When in fact it was the middle of a school day with lots of students passing by from all directions. :p

I really love those trees that meet in the middle of the road. Too bad we couldn't take this shot in the middle of the road as lots of cars were passing by. :p

Stepping out of comfort zone again and sat on dirty ground. :p

Lastly, a mandatory shoot at the university icon. :)

From the start, I knew i wanted pocketfold invitations.

I designed the suite in Photoshop and enlisted my bridesmaids' help in cutting, pasting, and assembling the invitations.
The map was hand-drawn by a bridesmaid. I edited and colored it in in Photoshop.

I wrote lengthily about our invitations in my personal blog:
invitation evolution part 1 - the first prototype
invitation evolution part 2 - sourcing the materials
invitation evolution part 3 - more prototypes
invitation evolution part 4 - mass production
invitation evolution part 5 - the wonderful map
invitation evolution part 6 - assembly and finishing touches
Our map was hand-drawn by a bridesmaid. This was inserted in our DIY pocketfold invitation.
I edited it and colored in in photoshop.
Here's the final digital version:

We love photography hence the camera icons. :)
