This is us. Lynsey and Alan. The soon to be Mr and Mrs Crawford (I still can't get used to that, that's Alan's mum and dad, not us!)
We're getting married very soon, July 2nd. We booked the wedding back in November when there was 9 months to go. All of a sudden it's June, and there's only 4 weeks to go!!

I never in a million years thought that I'd meet the man I'd be marrying... on the internet!
It was around summer 2002, Alan was randomly browsing around profiles on MySpace and decided to send me a friend request because we had similar music tastes and liked a lot of the same bands. He only lived 20 minutes up the road, but we'd gone to different schools in different towns, had different friends and had never met.
We started sending the usual small talk messages over MySpace. These gradually became long, detailed emails, about what our day had been like, new bands we'd discovered, and our plans for the weekend. Alan was a guitarist in a band, and he often played at jam nights at a local bar. He asked me to come a few times, but there was always something in the way that stopped me from going.
A year and hundreds of emails later, we both went off to college miles apart. We'd never met up 'in real life' and never thought anything of each other, other than just friends who were good to talk to and share everything over an email. The messages twindled out slightly while we were both off studying and meeting new people, but we did keep in touch now and then. We both got new boyfriends/girlfriends.
In 2005 I moved back home and got in a serious relationship with a guy. We moved into a house together and things were going well. Until 2 years later when I found out he was cheating. I threw him out and we split up. I was heartbroken and living alone in the house, really not used to being by myself. I was a mess. I stopped eating, lost loads of weight. I couldn't sleep at night as I wasn't used to being by myself.
A few months later I was online and remembered Alan so I sent him a message over MySpace. By this time everyone had moved over to Facebook and he didn't get my message for a few weeks. Eventually he replied and we got talking again. He'd just returned home from college. I told him everything that had happened, and he offered to meet up to try and cheer me up.
We agreed to meet the following week for a coffee in town. This was the first time we would have met up 'in real life'. After making me wait for half an hour because he was late, (I'm so used to that now!) he finally turned up and we headed for a cafe. I remember looking into his eyes and getting butterflies. I'd had no intentions of this being a date. We spent hours talking, there was never an awkward moment. After that day we were inseperable. He eventually moved into my house, we got a dog, and here we are 4 years later getting married.
Sometimes I look at him and take a step back in my mind, and just remember that he's 'Alan from MySpace' and think of all the emails we sent. We knew each other for 5 years before meeting up face to face. Sometimes we think of what would have happened if we'd met sooner. But I guess everything happens for a reason, and if that path led me to this, then I wouldn't change a thing

When it came to choosing my maid of honor it was an easy decision. Me and Dawn have been friends since we were 3 years old. We went to nursery together, primary school together, and high school together. We've never fallen out once or even had an argument. There's been times were we've lost touch for a couple months, but when we meet up again we just pick up where we left off. She's always stood by me no matter what.

This is Scott, the Best Man. He's Alan's younger brother.
I tried on so many dresses that day, they'd all started merging into one. My soon to be mother in law actually picked this one out from the rail. I tried it on and straight away knew I had to have this one, it stood out from all the other dresses, and I knew everyone would remember it afterwards. Not to mention, probably be shocked that's it's not just white! (The coloured detail will be in Eggplant, not the colour shown in the picture, and I'm having the train pinned up so that all the detail cascades down like a waterfall)

This is the dress my Maid of Honor, Dawn, will be wearing. It's by Alfred Angelo and is in Eggplant

Alan and his best man, Scott, will be wearing full traditional Scottish Highland wear. A black Argyle jacket, Pride of Glencoe tarten kilt, black sporran, gillie brogues, and a dark purple cravat.

Some of my favourite photos from the wedding. Not had the professional photos back yet, so these are just photos that friends and family took

We spent a few days after the wedding relaxing in our favourite place in Scotland, Applecross, before heading out to Cyprus
Cyprus:
Everyone met at my house, we had a few drinks before we left. All the girls wore a black dress and I wore a white one. We got picked up by a limo and taken to Liverpool. We had a meal at Las Iguanas before heading to the bars and clubs. Everyone had a fab night, and we were still dancing in the limo ride home!
