Us in , duh 2001.  Some fraternity or sorority function or another!

Mr. Swiss was my first love.  Well, is. I guess for so long there I got used to saying "He was my first love."

To make a reeeeaallly really long story (somewhat) short...

We started dating in college. He was the super cool, everyone knows him, fraternity dude.  I was a kinda shy, kinda awkward, but kinda (I hope?) cool sorority girl.  We had run into each other a few times my first few years of college.  None of those meetings seemed to stick in my mind, though Mr. Swiss swears from the first moment he saw me, he would date me.  Finally in my junior year we got set up as dates for a date function my sorority had.  THEN he finally stuck and I developed a big ol' crush on him.  But we still just stayed friends for a while.  Finally, FINALLY spring of my Jr. year we had our first kiss and started dating :)

I graduated in 2002 and decided to move up back to NJ a few months later.  We did the long distance thing for a few months, but it just didn't work out.  It was my choosing but we broke up.  Since Mr. Swiss had been my first EVERYTHING I felt a need to "see what else was out there." But I always compared every other guy to him.  We both had other relationships through the years but we stayed in touch, and he never resented me for breaking up with him.  He actually moved to another country (um, can you guess which one?)  And when that happened I had a funny feeling like, "Oh now we can def. never get back together."  WHAT!??  I was actually in another long term relationship at that point, WHERE did that thought come from? Um...ok. 

Well that other relationship ended eventually (it went on way too long if you ask me.)  And my parents had actually moved to Italy at that point.  (My folks work for the military.)  And Mr. Swiss was all, "Oh well Switzerland and Italy are so close we should meet up or something when you go visit them."  SO we made plans for me to go to Switzerland first before I visited my parents that summer.  But first he had a Business meeting in NYC and I decided to meet up with him there.  I was so nervous to see him after like 5 years!  I had a feeling something big was about to happen as I got off the train and walked to his hotel.  I finally somehow made it up to his room and he opened the door and my heart stopped.  After 20 minutes...I knew. I just KNEW.  My life was headed in a new direction from that moment on.  (Um, yeah, to Switzerland :)  ) 

So that's it, in a fairly large nutshell :)
