Weddingbee bios

Hi, well, who are we, well, I'm currently unemployed, so I'm spending all my time preparing for the wedding. I'm trying to do everything that I can possibly do to save us money while still having a fun wedding. We're getting married at a whitewater rafting company which overlooks the New River Gourge. It's a beautiful setting and I just hope that everything I make won't look homemade. I have several projects to complete, only one done so far, so I'm sure that I'll be lurking around here trying to find the best projects (you guys have some great ideas!) and posting some of my own.

We both had recently started working at this place when I saw him walking down the hall. It was like electricity went through my body and I had to remember to tell myself to keep walking. I had no idea who he was at that point, but I knew that he was my future husband. After some research (talking with a friend), I found out my future husband's name, what he did at work, and where he sat (had to find a reason to bump into him). I finally found a reason to talk to him about the company whitewater rafting trip. After an email meant for the friend was sent to him and I thought she was going to have to quit my job of embarassment, we went to lunch. And then we went to lunch again. I was super shy and extremely nervous while he was trying to be himself. Finally, we went to dinner where he realized the awesomeness of me. When we went whitewater rafting, he realized I was The One. Of course, I knew from the first moment. Now we're going to get married at the rafting place.

So here are two of our engagement photos. These were done in our backyard and I love them! I really need to get the CD of the rest of them from my Dad.

Yeah, it's not me in the picture, but it's my dress. I went to the Kleinfeld's Blowout Sale in April. I read about it the day I was leaving for New Jersey and even though we hadn't planned to stay that long, I was out of a job, so I could do whatever I wanted. Well, as long as my future in-laws would let me. I didn't have a ring yet, but I was going to this sale. I'd seen too much "Say Yes to the Dress" and I had to go. Well, two days before the sale was my boyfriend and his dad's birthday. He took me to Central Park and propsed. It was super sweet and something he has planned for a while. Anyway, I got to Kleinfeld's right after 8:00am and, when numbers were handed out, I was #9. It was all quite exciting...until I started trying on dresses. I just couldn't find anything that made me cry. I wanted to cry. I wanted a big "THIS IS MY DRESS" moment, which I never had. After trying on several dresses, I realized that rouching really helped me look better (I had a baby, who passed away, in December, and I ahven't lost all the weight). Finally, I tried on this dress. It had a train, which I didn't think I wanted, rouching, which I didn't think I wanted, and a lace up back, which I wanted. Oh, it's also slightly off white, which I didn't want. I do think that it looks good on me and I know that The Future McGroom will love it as it has everything that he told me he wanted in my dress (I had no idea he knew what rouching was). Anyway, I think that I just put too much on the dress. I love it; not I LOVE it and that's good enough for me. But I'm still making a second dress in the convertible dress style so I can party down.

For our invitations, I loved the fans I've seen around the site, so I made them in Word with three different possible games which I designed in InDesign. People loved them because the ceremony was outside in August. Plus, they had some fun with them.
