We met on October 24, 2006 at the Tea Lounge in Brooklyn, NY. It was one of his local hangouts, and I was there on a friend's recommendation... but by the end of the night we had made plans to go out again. Our first real date was at the Tea Lounge and we have been together ever since.
He works on Wall Street in computers, and I am a high school English teacher.
This is us at his company's Holiday party in December 2006.

On July 9, 2007, we had just gotten in from a trip to Montgomery the day before. We had been talking about getting engaged, and I knew he had been ring shopping, but I did not think he was going to propose in Alabama. I was right.
On Monday, it was just a regular day--I went to class in the afternoon, and we made plans to go to his favourite sushi place in Park Slope. I met him for dinner and then we went over to the Tea Lounge. This wasn't unusual--we have been known to go there and to take guests there. We got tea, a jazz band was playing in the background, and we settled on the same couch where we had had our first date. After having tasted some of his (nasty) tea, I turned away to watch the band. As I turned back around, he was getting down on one knee! I said yes, and we managed to have a very private moment in the middle of a lot of people. It was amazing.
He picked out the diamond from a co-worker's dad (who sells wholesale diamonds) in NYC's Diamond District. He did so well! :)
Doing their best not to appear interested...

I almost skipped my appointment at the Bridal Garden with my MOH in September 2006 after a disastrous morning of dress shopping in Brooklyn. I am SO glad that I didn't!
I loved my experience there, and while this dress was originally sleeveless, the seamstress there assured me that it could be altered to have sleeves without a problem.
My dress is a 2005 Henry Roth. For awhile, it was the last collection bearing his name, but he has recently begun to produce bridal gowns again. I wish I knew the style number, but it has been hard to find! The dress was a bridal size 12, which has been altered to a bridal size 8. Originally 5k+, I walked away with the dress of my dreams for $900!

A close-up of the cap sleeves that my wonderful seamstress added!

My wonderful BMs wore any Ann Taylor celebration line dress that came in the color Pacific Blue. 3 opted for the strapless, and 1 opted for the V-Neck.
Their necklaces were from Etsy and were part of their BM gift. Each gift wore her own earings and chose their own silver shoe.

My 2 goddaughters were my flowergirls.

I ordered the dresses from online, but their mom found the shoes!

My DH chose to wear a morning suit with a silver vest and tie while his groomsmen wore a pinstripe suit with blue vests. All tuxes from Men's Warehouse.

While my dad wore a green vest and the GMs wore blue, the bouts looked the same for everyone except my DH!

DH surprised me with these diamond earings after our RD. I was planning to wear simple earings I had ordered from Etsy, but it meant a lot to him for me to wear his gift, and so I did! :)

We purchased our wedding rings at Wares Jewelers in Montgomery, AL. Funnily enough, my parents bought their rings 35 years ago from the original Wares store in Auburn, AL...we had no idea! Wares was great about letting us pay in installments and sending them to us with insurance via FedEx for no additional cost so that we could save on state sales tax!
DH's band is a 2 tone gold and platinum ring and mine is a band with 10 channel set diamonds.

My amazing seamstress, Eilat, owns Honeycomb Veils. She created my veil just for me, using beading from my dress that had been removed while hemming. I loved having a blusher veil!

In honor of my late grandmother, it was very important to me to feature hydrangeas in our wedding.
My bouquet was made of two solid blue hydrangeas with greenery at the base. This light blue color formed the base for our wedding color scheme.

The groom waits for the onslaught of pictures!
I was so lucky to have such amazing BMs!

LegOur reception featured hydrangea centerpieces, a dance floor, and a projector (set up by the Best Man without our knowledge...)
