Weddingbee bios

Marcus is from Goteborg, Sweden (hence the ridiculously cute swedish nicknames in the title of this post) and I am from Garden Grove, California.  My name is Bethany.  We are both in our mid 20's, very excited about the next chapter in our lives and ready to get planning this happy wedding!

 

My future hubby and I met in 2005 when I decided to leave my comfy home in southern California to go study abroad in the beautiful country of Sweden for a year.  I moved into a student corridor which housed 12 students.  My FH lived two doors down from me and I met him on one of my first days in Sweden in our hallway.  I immediately met up with my American friends and told them how I'd met a handsome local.  After about a month of quiet flirting (those Swedes are quite shy so I had to be careful not to scare him away ) I ran into him at a student bar in town.  We talked all night and finally had our first kiss.  We dated and fell in love during my adventure abroad. 

At the end of my school year in Sweden, I had to go back home to finish my degree but we decided to continue our relationship long distance (Boy did that bring a whole new meaning to LONG DISTANCE - him in Sweden, me in Southern California).  Well, we must have really been meant for each other because we stayed together, taking turns to visit each other during our school breaks, and on June 11, 2009, almost 4 years later, he popped the question and I said yes!

I love Pink (all shades of pink) and my fiance likes blue, so we decided pretty easily on our color scheme for our wedding:

Midnight/Navy Blue + Bright Pink + light pink + champagne

I'm thinking: Midnight blue table linens, with pink napkins... and if I'm lucky, here is where we will be having our reception: A little PINK castle (kind of):

That's about as far as we've gotten... gotta nail down a place first to see what next steps to take!
