My husband is an artist and he wanted to draw something for our invitations.  After he finished it, I took it to Kinkos and printed it on plain white DIY wedding invitations.  I added white vellum to soften it a bit and also all my guests had to do to see the details of his drawing was lift up the vellum.  I printed our invitation wording right onto the vellum.  I added my touch of blue by adding ribbon to the top and the bottom.

Background on his drawing... we are both from Philly and we now live in Seattle and the wedding was in Philly.

Oh, plus I was under a budget.  A white DIY invitation kit (50 count)=$6.67 on clearance at Target. Vellum $0.22 a page. Kinko's copy $0.17 Blue cornflower blue ribbon= 3 rolls= $6.00

Total for each invitation= $0.51
