My first attempt at an inspiration board, just created via dessy.com.

Have been engaged for 3weeks, and whilst im not "actively" planning, i am dreaming and boring shifts at work cause me to trawl the internet in search of inspiration, and the board killed an hour nicely!

I do love it, and i think it fits the theme i am envisioning perfectly!

In the past three years, my wedding inspiration has swelled bigger than a snowball rolling down a hill. Here's what I got:

-Disney's Alice in Wonderland from 1951 (particularly Mary Blair's concept art)

-Eyelet and gingham

-Daisies and roses

-Sky blue and yellow

-the 1950s

And here's what it looks like!

We're doing chocolate brown with fall color accents, orange, deep red, green. I really love the idea of pumpkin "laterns" lining the way!

Even though the Mr., and I haven't yet begun looking at venues (we're calling Monday!), I've already started narrowing down my favourite inspiration boards/colours. I know these could (we don't want our decor to clash with our venue, after all), and probably will change (I'm completely indecisive), right now I'm completely in love with damask (in small doses), mixed with teal, and red.

I mean, how could you not love this combo? Just take a look!

We decided on a (royal / midnight) blue and silver palette, which is tricky when it comes to finding flowers. So we ended up using violet as a nice accent.

We're hoping for a wedding that is earthy, romantic and a little
rustic. I love, love, love everything about this board. I love the
colors.. I love the feel of it. I made it without collaborating with FI
and only showed him when it was finished to see what he thought. What
was the first thing he said? "What's with that gray suit?" *sigh* I
love the idea of the men in light gray suits, but FI isn't sold on it.
Otherwise he said he liked it so as of now it's our plan.

My eco-chic peacock inspiration! TA-DA!

We're going eco-friendly in using wooden disposable cutlery, compostable plates and cups, using second-hand rumaged mis-matched vases for centerpieces, moss accents for a natural pop of color, bamboo cotton-jersey materials for my wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses, and printing our STD's, invitations, favor tags, and thank-you notes on recycled paper. We're also using more peacock feathers than flowers to keep costs and after wedding waste down. Instead of large bouquets for centerpieces, we're scattering 10 or so vases on each table with a single bud or flower in a vase paired with eye and sword feathers.
