We had them ship some of their samples to the Jelwery Store we used, Fredric H. Rubel Jewlers, and saw one that was similiar. The sample was smaller so we had his made with one more diamond so that it would be wider. They are based in Los Angeles and were so great to work with. They have amazing stuff! I'm always so nervous about mine since although tanzanite is awesome, it is a more delicate gem than a diamond would be. So  much cooler than diamonds ;-) labrat on "Wedding Band = Forever" http://bios.weddingbee.com/topic/wedding-band-forever#post-4049 Wed, 10 Mar 2010 18:20:57 +0000 labrat 4049@http://bios.weddingbee.com/ When we first got engaged and Mr. LR gave me the heirloom ring, I told him that we ought to get our Wedding bands from Tiffany’s.  Yes I do love the little blue boxes but the desire to have something from Tiffany’s was a bit more to do with our little connection.   <img src="http://bios.weddingbee.com/pics/64994/tiffanys.jpg" /> See when we began dating from afar, one of the moments we connected was around Halloween.  I was going to a costume party and chose to dress as Audrey Hepburn from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.  It took me three hours to make my first beehive and he thought I made a wonderful Holly Golightly.  Well actually, I looked so cute he was afraid that I would find someone at the party and he wouldn’t get to ask me out.  A couple weekends later, he decided to watch the classic and was weirded out by the fact that Holly’s brother Fred was stationed at Ft. Riley, as that was the Army base Mr. LR was stationed at for the past 4 yrs.  Then to make things even stranger, while he was shopping in the local movie/book/general media store, a framed screen shot fell off of its rack at him.  He caught it midair without dropping his coffee or basket of books.  As he went to place it back on the shelf, he noticed that the shot was of Audrey peering into the display window from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.   Since then we considered Breakfast at Tiffany’s our movie and that we have this weird Tiffany’s connection.  <img src="http://bios.weddingbee.com/pics/64994/IMG_5072.jpg" /> So getting the bands from Tiffany’s was all well and good until I looked at the prices of the bands.  While I love several of their bands in platinum, we didn’t and probably won’t have the money for such bands (we are paying for this wedding our self).  So we began to look at the less pricey alternatives in silver.  I happened upon a collection by Frank Gehry, the architect.  The bands were not only in our price range ($550 for both including hand engraving)  but are also little works of art.  We both loved them. This led to a trip to our local Tiffany’s to try the bands on.  He fell in love with his while it took me a moment to get use to the square band.  I found it wasn’t as uncomfortable as it might have appeared and loved the fact that it isn’t a normal wedding band.   <img src="http://bios.weddingbee.com/pics/64994/Tiff_ring_josh.jpg" /><img src="http://bios.weddingbee.com/pics/64994/tiff_ring_becky.jpg" /> Ring photos courtesy of Tiffany's Now in addition to our tiffany’s connection, we also have this other cute connection.  When we first began dating, Mr. LR emailed me with the subject “I just love your ramblings!” but the way my tabs were in the browser Gmail shortened it to “I just love you”.  We decided as soon as we became engaged that we would have that engraved inside the bands so after ordering the rings, we also ordered custom engraving of the bands.  It was quite an exciting day even though there was a slight drama that we might not have been able to get Mr. LR’s ring in his size.  Tiffany’s didn’t show his in stock in the warehouse and didn’t show it being able to be ordered.  So we had them place an order for it and had to just wait hoping it came in.  Luckily it got delivered to the store within 5days!
