Wow they are gorgeous!! I have heard so many horror stories about House of Brides. I'm so glad to hear a postive one. I know it was one of the sites I was considering when it came time to get bridesmaid dresses but I have kinda been looking for something else because of all the stories. This really givse me hope because these dresses are just beautiful. =)

I'm so excited to finally have this - whenever I'm feeling down I just check it out and I get all happy knowing that this is what our wedding will (hopefully) look like! I unfortunately don't have credits for most of these photos (a few are my own, taken at the reception hall and of our rings), so I apologize if these belong to anyone - just let me know & I'll credit you!

This little inspiration board I put together is quickly becoming our reality. From Bridesmaid dresses, to accessories, to ceremony decor. When I made this board I wanted to use pictures of things that I felt I could actually do and afford. I think this board perfectly describes the type of wedding Mr. Knight and I are planning. We are wanting a little Garden Romance (and whimsical) wedding.

Mama Knit says I was born in the wrong era. Perhaps she is right. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the music of the 1980’s and the 1990’s, but I have a deep love for the music of the 50’s, 60’s and 70′. Simon and Gar, CCR, the Beatles, and Janis Joplin played in the Knit car all the time growing up. My favorite song, Kodachrome/Maybelline from the Simon and Garfunkel Concert in Central Park. I soon discovered that Mr Knit shares my love of this song. We’ll cue it up on the Ipod and sing like idiots. To us, the song made embodies fun, vivid color.

When we started to select our color pallet, I had a hard time eliminating colors. My favorite color is Turquoise/Aqua. But I also am partial to green, bright pink, and orange. With the exception of orange (it makes me look ill) I wear the other four colors a lot. As I struggled to pick one or two colors- Mr Knit solved my problem. Use them all! Duhhh why didn’t I think of that? The vision of my Kodachrome wedding started to come together.

With a graphic design minor, I knew I wanted to do my own invitations. However, I wanted to make sure that the invitations didn't look super handmade (i.e. crooked cuts) and were still me. So, I started with an invitation kit and added a few different elements to make the whole invitation.

I scored a great deal on invitation kits (flat invite, response card, envelopes for both). I'm using the kit response card as my reception card, and instead I picked up basic flat 4Bar cards and envelopes in the wedding colors at Michael's to use for the RSVPs. I also found a simple flower graphic stamp at Joann's that I'm using to stamp the invites and as a graphic throughout the wedding. I plan to use the stamp on my programs, place cards and even my thank you notes. When I designed the layout, I decided to be a little off the cuff and print the invites landscape instead of the standard portrait. I also bought my outer envelopes from http://www.jampaper.com for a good price. The final element I'm including is a belly band using scrapbook paper in the wedding colors (but a variety of paper that I have on hand) and our last name initial with a stamp on it. The initial letters are from a Martha Stewart DIY for a "Just Married" banner.

Here's what they look like for now, together and spread out. I have yet to actually start the printing part, but the design is finally finished.
