Kapperchazka on "The hunt for the purple bridesmaid dress" http://bios.weddingbee.com/topic/the-hunt-for-the-purple-bridesmaid-dress#post-3888 Fri, 26 Feb 2010 18:22:10 +0000 Kapperchazka 3888@http://bios.weddingbee.com/ My girls and I went on quite a hunt for the perfect bridesmaid dresses.  The first place we looked was David's Bridal.  Our front runner was this dress, style F12732.  It's a nice dress, but I was surprisingly unexcited about it and just couldn't pull the trigger for the girls to get it. <img src="http://bios.weddingbee.com/pics/56557/davids_bridal.jpg" /> (Photo from the David's Bridal Website) We then found a dress at a local bridal store by Jordan.  It's style number 833 and was closer to what I was looking for.  It looked great on my tall bridesmaids (over 5'10"), but looked funny of the 5'6" girls. <img src="http://bios.weddingbee.com/pics/56557/jordan.jpg" /> (Photo from the Jordan website) The next contender was a Bill Levkoff dress.  It was a deeper purple and looked really good on my little bridesmaid (size 2).  I didn't really want a strapless bridesmaid dress, and it was a bit more than I wanted to ask my girls to spend.  It's still pretty to look at though... <img src="http://bios.weddingbee.com/pics/56557/bill_levkoff.jpg" /> (Photo from the Bill Levkoff site) Finally, we happened upon the winner.  I stumbled on it as I was searching purple bridesmaid dresses on weddingbee.  I followed a link to the Nordstrom website and discovered Adrianna Patell.  She had a GORGEOUS one strap, long dress that I immediately fell in love with.  My girls and I went to Nordstroms the next day on our lunch break, and we all fell in love.  They had it in one of the girl's sizes, and the sales lady called 3 other Nordstrom stores to round up the rest...we have a dress coming from Scottsdale, Spokane, and New York.  The best part...if they for some reason don't fit or we find something we love more (unlikely) they are fully refundable.  I am so happy with them, and I'm glad we continued the search! <img src="http://bios.weddingbee.com/pics/56557/adrianna_front.jpg" />   <img src="http://bios.weddingbee.com/pics/56557/adrianna_back.jpg" />   My girls are going to wear silver heels of their choosing and I'm planning to get earrings and a bracelet for a bridsemaid gift (no reason to need a necklace!)  I'm in love with their dresses!!
