My daughter loves taking pictures and what an opportunity for her to showcase her talent then taking her to the park with us to meet our photographer for our e-pics.

Babygirl was snapping away, posing us and getting into all crazy postions to capture these beauties. We'll have to wait a couple weeks to compare hers to the professionals, but none the less she did a wonderful job.

I loved my wedding dress. I was one of those (few?) brides that wasn't thrilled about dress shopping. I delayed as long as possible. But once I had this one on, one of the last ones at the 4th store, I didn't want to take it off. :)

In May of 2009, Jon asked me to move in with him. My apartment was only one street away from his, but we packed up my things and consolidated our belongings into our 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom place. The spare bedroom was relinquished to me by Jon to use as a craft room, a place for all of my scrapbooking supplies.

The proposal occured on June 9th, 2009. I was working late that day and the weather was horrible, with storms and heavy rain. I left work and ran an errand, then came home. I was drenched by the time I got inside our apartment and I walked in to find Jon and Emma, our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, cuddled up on the couch together. He was fully dressed, which was unlike him as normally he'd throw on sweats on an evening like this. I headed into the bedroom to get changed into dry clothes. Jon followed me and announced that he had a surprise for me, but I had to work for it.

I was handed a small, folded up piece of paper. It was a clue. This was a scavenger hunt. The first note lead me to my stash of coffee in the pantry where the second note was hidden underneath the pack of filters. The second note lead me back into the bedroom where the third note was under my pillow. Then the third note took me to the door where the fourth note was stuffed into my shoes. Finally, that note lead me into the spare bedroom, my craft room, where the last note was hidden underneath a pink tin of die-cuts. That note told me to close my eyes and turn around 3.5 times.

I was nervous. I knew what was coming. I was shaking. I turned only once and then clutched the note in my hands and announced, with my eyes still shut, "Okay! I'm done!" and Jon laughed, "You only turned around once! Keep going!"

Finally when I opened my eyes, I saw Jon, on one knee, holding an open ring box. I didn't even notice the ring because all I could see was him, saying, "Will you marry me?"

And, of course, I said yes. :)

In December 2007, I had no intention of finding the person I would spend the rest of my life with. I had recently left an emotionally abusive long-distance relationship and I was trying to find new friends. I had found an old friend from middle and high school and he and I were leaving comments back and forth on MySpace. I happened to look at this friend's Top Friends one day and I noticed a picture of a really cute, sweet looking guy. When I clicked on the profile, it was private, but I took a chance and sent him a message anyway.

All I wrote was, "Hey, you're cute. Thought you should know."

I was having abdominal surgery the following week, so the idea of sending someone I didn't even know a message like that was completely out of character for me. Still, I took a chance.

I was surprised a day or two later when I got a response from this anonymous guy. His name was Jonathan, but he introduced himself as Jon. Our conversations started out about random stuff, like the weather or how long we had lived in the area. Quickly we began discussing our hopes for our futures, what our fears were, and the things that really made us tick.

After my surgery, I was home for two weeks right around the Christmas holiday. He was sweet enough to send me text messages during and after the surgery, wishing for me to have a quick and easy go on the operating table and to feel better soon. A week after the surgery, we had our first date - hot chocolate and hot apple cider at Hyperion Espresso in the historic downtown area of Fredericksburg.

Our first date went so well that although we only planned on meeting downtown and then seeing "I Am Legend," Jon asked me to have dinner with him.

Once we got past the holidays and January set in, Jon and I became inseparable. His family met me almost instantly after we started dating and his friends did, too. My mom met him, as well. We were lucky in that his family welcomed me immediately and made me feel like one of their own, and my mother loved him. Our friends all meshed well together, too.

Without a doubt, Jon's my best friend and the love of my life. The way I have been so blessed to have him in my life, I could never explain what I did to deserve this. :)

When we first start dating we already knew that we were both die hard Gator fans who loved to travel for games but we didn't realize that we both had a love for world competitions.

(Mr. Gator and I at a football game)

(Mr. Gator and I in Costa Rica)

Now, the Mr. and I love sports but we don't follow much outside the NCAA and MLB (Go Brew Crew). When we found out we both love USA vs. the world competitions, we made a pact to go to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. I had been promising this to myself since I started watching the World Cup in 2002 (in Korea) and since I had just missed the World Cup in 2006 (I had been studying in Normandie, France right before kick-off) I was sure to make it to South Africa. Thankfully Mr. Gator was in on the challenge and was ready to sign up.

(Picture from my days in TZ)

Before we had any idea that we'd have a late-May wedding, I had registered for the World Cup ticket lottery and got us 2 tickets to 2 matches. We still have no idea who we'll be watching but we are more than excited to be going!

When we realized that a late-May wedding would be perfect we decided to turn the World Cup into an unforgettable honey moon. So far we have our world cup tickets, booked a Kruger Safari, reserved our shark diving adventure and found a hotel in Cape Town. We still have a lot to do (like buying our tres cher airline tickets) but I might just say that I'm more excited for the adventure filled honeymoon than the wedding!

After ring shopping and some mysterious contact with my family's friends who happen to be jewelers... I knew a ring was picked out and on its way... eventually. He kept dropping hints that he would be picking the ring up when we went home to Maryland to visit our families at the end of September. I assumed the proposal would come sometime after that... and he would have to drag it out to surprise me, so who knew how long it would be until we were engaged!!

In the middle of a less than stellar work week, my SO called me and asked if I wanted to go to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts with him after work. Its right around the corner from my lab and its usually nearly empty on weeknights. We both love art and visit the museum frequently, so I didn't suspect anything - I figured he was feeling as restless at work as I was.

He was glowing when I got to the museum, but I still had no idea. He led me to the beautiful impressionist gallery, and we walked towards the stunning Renoir that is the gallery's centerpiece - The Dance at Bougival. There was a woman in front of the painting taking pictures... very slowly. My SO seemed surprisingly irritated at the woman's slow photography - and in a minute I would understand why. In a usual pattern for us, he suddenly asked if I wouldn't mind carrying his wallet in my purse. And then with a mischievous look on his face he told me he had something else for me to hold onto as well. He got down on one knee, right in front of the painting in the beautiful empty gallery and asked me to marry him!

I was SO surprised and thrilled. He had been throwing me off the trail all along - our friend the jeweler had offered to send him the ring before he had to pay, so he didn't have to go down to Maryland to finalize the sale! Of course he kept this a secret, making it the most wonderful surprise of my life!
