About “Toshella” (which is a bizarro “Branjelina” mash-up of our middle names, in case you were wondering):
We both work in the IT industry, love geeky British TV, and enjoy singing musical duets on long road trips (we do a mean “Will You Light My Candle”). We met shortly after I moved to Virginia in 2008 and were friends and coworkers for a year before we started dating.
He’s a born and bred Northern Virginian (never to be confused with just “Virginian” …apparently) who attended James Madison University and can (and does) point out every significant landmark he grew up with, including the soccer field he played on when he was 4. He’s into anime, paintball, and video games and has an annoyingly strong work ethic. (I only say that because I pine when he works late.) He’s cheesy and sweet and loves making me laugh, and my family says they knew within seconds of meeting him that we were perfect for each other.
I’ve lived all over (a mixture of wanderlust and being a military brat) but nowadays I’m pretty content to call Virginia home. I get fanatical about things I love, whether it’s certain TV shows, Harry Potter, or my favorite bands – I’m that weird girl posting in fan forums about spoilers and joining Pottermore on the first day of the Magic Quill challenge… *a hem*. I love reading fantasy and science fiction and am slowly learning to enjoy video games, thanks to M’s ceaseless attempts to get me to play. I’m an improv hobbiest, comma abuser, and love writing in lists of three. Our engagement has been an excuse for me to do a bunch of craft projects for our DIY wedding and try out new “wife skillz” like canning and sewing. As much as I’ve enjoyed wedding planning, I think I’m going to enjoy being a wife even more.
Together we live with our two cats (Fred and George), eat way too much Chipotle, and oh yeah, are planning this whole wedding thing.
