hahaha...sooooo everyone has their own way of describing that one special moment when the world stopped spinning, and your life came to a halt, and the man of their dreams got down on one knee and POPPED THE QUESTION...some of you ladies may say that their proposal was an elaborate execution of events that all led to the shiny ring...some may say that it was when they least expected it at the site of their first date, some may say they went through a treasure hunt, and some may say that it was the most personal private most perfect moment they could have imagined, and that ladies...is how i would like to describe mine...
it was the evening of December 11th, 2011, an evening that Marcus and I had decided to go Christmas Shopping. In the middle of searching for gifts, of course my eyes were attracted to the shiny display of ......ringssss.....lol. I found myself getting closer and closer to the display case, and marcus followed suit. Asking me subtle questions about my preference in rings. He then suggested we go to two ring stores...one in which we found the most perfect champange diamond that we had ever seen...but the setting wasnt perfect, so he then suggested to me that we could eventually find the perfect setting, if i felt that that was the perfect stone..of course i said no..i think i wanted that element of surprise..i wanted HIM..to make the decision..well the RIGHT decision..hahaha...
we end up walking over to another jewerly store, where we were given a small tutorial on diamonds....never before had i seen such shiny gorgeous creations! & then i hear marcus ask, what do you think about this one...it was a white and rose gold antique ring inspired gorgeousness of a piece! of course i FELL IN LOVE! but then..the lady suggested that they could create a custom one for me...ugghhh why would they say that....when it's so hard to decide on a ring that youre going to wear for the REST OF YOUR LIFE!!!! haha...what i loved the most about the antique inspired ring was that it looked like heirloom that you could pass down to your future daughter, and marcus agreed.
we left the store after marcus had signed up for a credit check at that store..hmm, and right before I was getting ready to get into my car at his house, he told me to wait, i was confused, because we had already said our goodbyes. You see, Marcus and I have always lived away from each other...long distance if you may. So every time we see eachother, one of us has to say bye and make a drive at the end of the night, this night was no different, or so i thought...he told me to wait, he grabbed my bags, from christmas shopping, and took a long sigh and kissed my forehead...i was confused. and then he said..."ever since the first day that i said the words "i love you" to you, i knew you were the one, and the next thing i know...he is down on one knee...asking me to MARRY HIM!!!!!..wait huhhhhhhh....yesss im ready, but huhhhh....we had talked about maybe getting engaged when he got back from bootcamp, because he was about to be leaving for 4 months...but wait..huhhhh....we just took a look at rings.......wait..whattt...and my reaction was "are you seriousss?!?!" hahahah
he pulls out THE RING...ladies...THEEEE RINGGGG..theeee antique inspired ringggggggggggggggggggg...the one that he had suggested to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...yesss! hahahaa...THAT RING!!!
he then told me to call my dad..which i hessitated, because i knew my dad is old school and would have wanted nothing more than to be asked for my hand in marriage...i kept telling marcus that i wasnt going to call my dad, and when he asked why i told him, and he finally said..."i already asked him!!!!! wait huhhhhhh....
So i called my dad..and to make a long story short..he confused me...because he got mad...he understood over the phone that marcus had just proposed and that we were going away to get eloped?!?! HUHHHHHHHHHHHH.....hahahaha..oh boyyyy..when i told him that he had just PROPOSED and we werent going to get married for another year and a half....he then changed his tone to being the most excited father in the world! hahahaa
so there you have it...marcus proposed in the parking lot...beneath the moonlit floor...and with a kiss we sealed the proposal....just him and i, so intimate, so personal, so romantic, especially since i know he is a very private person! i love my fiance!!
