My eco-chic peacock inspiration! TA-DA!

We're going eco-friendly in using wooden disposable cutlery, compostable plates and cups, using second-hand rumaged mis-matched vases for centerpieces, moss accents for a natural pop of color, bamboo cotton-jersey materials for my wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses, and printing our STD's, invitations, favor tags, and thank-you notes on recycled paper. We're also using more peacock feathers than flowers to keep costs and after wedding waste down. Instead of large bouquets for centerpieces, we're scattering 10 or so vases on each table with a single bud or flower in a vase paired with eye and sword feathers.

I'm doing peacock as an accent to my black bridesmaid's dresses. I'm also trying to figure out how to wear a feather in my hair...

If your looking for all things peacock, check out Etsy.com and do a general search. You'd be surprised how much stuff is on there from feather fascinators to playing cards (would make cool favor tags!) to clip art and DIY invitations to beads, and more! YAY peacock brides!

We are doing an eco-friendly wedding too. I'd love to share ideas. A word of wisdom: be wary of compostable cups and plates. Unless your venue has a really good setup, they may not be down with composting. Then your compostables will just end up in the rubbish. Also, we've tested cornstarch and potato flatware in our very hot compost heap. They took ages to breakdown even the littlest bit. Re-usables from a secondhand store may end up being more eco friendly. Just a thought!
