The bridal party is pretty small- 3 women. This is purposeful. The idea of dealing with tons of girls was too much, as well as the thought that a small wedding should be balanced out by a small wedding party.
My maid of honor was super easy- my older sister. In the last 8 months I have questioned this decision frequently and think on some levels its a mistake, but she's my sister and I love her. Plus, I was the maid of honor at both her weddings.
My first "regular" bridesmaid is my friend Lisa, who would have been maid of honor if I didn't have a sister. Of all my friends, she calls the most (despite being over 1,000 miles away) and is always there to talk to when I need to talk. I deeply appreciate that.
My second, and last, "regular" bridesmaid is my friend Lori. I actually asked her late, thinking first of a high school friend because Lori is the anti-wedding type. I didn't want to put her or I in the ackward position of her turning me down if I asked. Well, the high school friend flaked and I was spending tons of time hanging out with Lori (she's an exercise buddy, as well as a dancing til we drop and a girls night out drinking buddy) and figured I'd risk rejection. She never said yes, but she's all in the business of picking out bridesmaids dresses and wanting info on the wedding. I take that as an implicit yes. :)

And there you have it, my 3 girls.
