I was working at a college when I was 29 and he was a workstudy student in my office (18), his freshman year. I was married at the time. We developed a friendship, I always admired how he was so mature for his age and we always talked about everything in my office, he spent more time in my office than he did across the hall where he was suppose to be. I guess I knew he had a crush on me, but we both never entertained it he was always a perfect gentlmen. ( I did have a hot dream about him once!) The friendship continued after he graduated. He would always call to keep in touch and let me know what and how he was doing. When he got married (to his high school sweetheart, and the girl I always endorsed, because I thought she was sweet enough for him), I spoke at the wedding. We kept in touch over the years, until one day I noticed that I didn't hear from him in a while so I called and I couldn't get in touch with him. Finally, he returned my call a month later. He informed me that his young wife of 25 was dying of ovarian cancer. I was so sorry to hear and made sure that he knew I was there if he needed to talk. More time passed and we didn't speak. His mother called me one morning because she said she couldn't think of anyone else to call because I was in the same city as him and she knew what I meant to him while he was in college, but she wanted to let me know that his wife was in hospice and maybe I could reach out to him, so I did and his wife died 3 days later. So, just like the weddign I was there for him during this time. What I haven't told you yet is that I had recently divorced, he didn't know that because the last time he saw me was at my 40th birthday party and I was still married. We stayed in touch, started having our talks about everything again like we did in the past, but this time the talks were a little different!!! We started to date and to both of our surprise it was like we were made for each other. The age difference was never an issue. He is the man I asked for!!! I am experiencing what its like to be completely in love for the first time at the age of 42!! It's amazing!!!!
