Okay... so the ring wasn't somewhere hidden in the tree (thankfully).
My DH decided that he wanted my proposal to be a complete surprise. He had told me how he didn't plan to get married for at least another few years. This was told to me numerous times throughout 2011 when we had been dating for 2 years.
However, on December 25, 2011, I woke up to Justin saying "Hey, hey, I got a question for you..." Me, being half asleep still, groggily said "what's that?" "He replied with, "Will you marry me?" and he had the ring held up on his pinky finger.
He might have even said "Will you be my wife?" instead; but, I'm totally not sure. I just remember squealing like a little kid when seeing a very large wrapped present near the Christmas tree. Anyway, that's it. That's how my proposal went.
