On a beautiful mid-October day in 2012, my future husband took me to Frick Park (which I am obsessed with) so we could walk around & look at the beautiful autumn leaves before they all fell off the trees. Everything looked so beautiful & perfect that day, & Spenc even willingly took pictures with me, which he NEVER does without putting up a fight first! Afterwards, we went out for a nice dinner & when we returned to our apartment, he asked me to wait in the car while he ran inside to get something.
Note: A week prior to this, he asked me to get online to look at engagement rings so he could have an idea for when he goes to look "some day" .. Yeah, he is not the best at surprises (hehe).
He came back out to the car & told me that he's ready for me to come in. As I entered the apartment, he had me close my eyes until he said, "open." When I opened my eyes, in front of me were two carved pumpkins which read, "Will you marry me?" I must have stood there in shock for a few seconds because Spenc had to finally say, "Turn around." When I did, he was down on one knee with a beautiful ring in his hand. I don't think I even gave him time to officially ask me because I started kissing him immediately!
Even though I had an inkling of what he was up to that night, I think that his proposal was super cute & thoughtful, especially because carving pumpkins was one of the very first activities we completed together as a couple!
