I dreaded the task of dealing with invitation suites - the assembly, the cost, the sheer complication. Additionally we received invites from a couple before where the cards (response cards as well) were dark purple. I taped a white peice of notecard I cut out onto it and wrote in purple pen. Thought it was clever to keep the color scheme going but thought it a little inconvenient.
In response to the featured blog - I thought I would share my option for invitations and online RSVP.
As for my wedding - I also have many international guests or ones that are at least traveling from out of state. I mostly feared RSVPs that got lost in the mail. We were fully agreed on online RSVPs. With that decided, really the only information needed on an invite was names, date, and location. I found beautiful invites on Zazzle.com. I added some color to the roses myself with colored pencil and added sparkle to the bride with glitte glue. I think it's the personal touches that make it so special :)
(Our names have been saved with a white rectangle for the sake of posting pictures) The website is listed under the request to RSVP - I just left it out of the picture.
