So there we were sitting on chaise lounges sipping champagne together. Just my mom and me in our 5th bridal salon as I try on gown after gown.

That is actually the image I had in my head for years of how it would be dress shopping with my mom. I shake my head and chuckle because it really wasn't like that at all.
We decided to try a bridal salon about 2 miles from where my mom lives. This was the first salon we went to and I really thought nothing would come out of it. I had no idea what I wanted but I did know what I did NOT want: Sparkles and strapless.
I'm willing to try on anything, I mean, you never know unless you try, right? I tried on 3 gowns and they were nice but it wasn't until I put the 4th gown on that my inner princess came through and boy oh boy, did she want to come out!
Guess what this lovely gown had? Sparkles and it was strapless. Go figure! I'll never forget walking from the dressing room, smile from ear to ear to see my mom's face light up and tears well in her eyes. I knew immediately I had found my dress!
When I looked in the three way mirror (I love them), I felt like giving the royalty wave to myself. Pathetic, I know. The lady helping me put a sparkly headband on me which at first I was like, 'no more sparkles' but once it was on, I was asking for more! It was amazing.
